More on riding...

I cantered in my lesson today. It's the first time I've cantered since... well... in a while. Indicates to me my instructor has a lot more faith in my riding ability. Other people riding (okay, a teenage girl) commented my riding was getting better also. Normally getting this sort of feedback from teenagers means little to me, but when it comes to riding horses, they all know more than me. Anyway, I'll take any compliment I can get. Also struck up a conversation with a little girl's mother who was watching her daughter's lesson. It was just before mine. This little girl nearly gave up last week but decided to come back and try a different horse. I told her how great she was doing and maybe someday, I could go over jumps too. That's right, the 6 year old is a better rider than me. I'm used to it. Everything I've done in the past has been western riding so it's like I'm learning all over again. And it's great. My balance is better and my overall riding is better.

Also, due to my copious free time, I've offered to help out around the farm in trade for riding time. So I'll get to ride more during the week.

YAY!

but what about

There was that little 4 year old boy who rode the pony at the auction really well.
