Monday's Riding
Oct. 2nd, 2003 10:48 amMonday was pretty uneventful. Same usual riding.
I've got one problem. Rick has me riding with a crop the past few lessons. It started when I rode Elsie. Now I've used a crop twice with Brawney. Never mind the fact that using the crop freaks out the horse and makes him kick out, although I think I've found the level of crop I need to use to get the horse to listen. Don't even have to make contact with him as hitting the leather on the saddle gets him to react by sound alone. I just have problems holding the crop and controlling the horse. That is to say, I have trouble adjusting my reigns and with the CTS, my hand bothers me from holding the crop. I felt as though I had better command of Brawney without the crop. I'll talk to Rick about it at my next lesson. Skipping the coming week due to family commitments and didn't schedule the week after due to fear of having to work late yet again.
