CTRF opening weekend.
Sep. 26th, 2005 10:53 amDespite the usual opening day bumps in the road, most things felt great. (First show didn't count.) We premeired a new GBU show, GBU at War, which was well received. (First show didn't count.) As usual, working through a few bugs to get everything as we'd like it to be, but I expect we'll get that squared away in no time. (First show didn't count.)
I squired for the joust which I hadn't done a lot of in Vermont. Felt good to be back on the field. At the start of the second day's joust, one of the lance racks tipped over while introductions were happening. Three of us sprinted to the other end of the field. One of the other squires said, "I didn't know you could run that fast." Neither did I. I also wasn't out of breath. Amazing what adrenilene can do for you.
First day's joust I was doing the armored combat. Only day I'm doing it during this run so I can focus more on the joust show and squiring for that. Plenty of armored fighters available this year so I can take some time away (although I was most squiring last year too).
And at that show, I ran into the guy who hired me at Ultranet (eventually RCN).
( Picture behind the cut. ).
Was a real surprise. Neither of us expected to see the other. He had his whole clan in tow. Amazing who you run into when you're out on a stage.
Anyway, looking forward to some relaxation and then another weekend of faire.
