For the dog lovers...
May. 23rd, 2006 10:17 amA few people asked me about the Pug looking for a new home last week. I don't know what the end result was.
Anyway, here's another dog for adoption:

After taking two weeks off for my first two weeks at the new job, I had a riding lesson today. Someone else was riding the horse I usually ride in the lesson before mine so I rode my instructor's mother's horse, a 16.3 hand quarter horse. I started this journal in 2002 (I think) to chronicle my progress to become a jouster. Clearly it didn't stay that way but hey, let's talk about horse stuff.
The horse is fantastic. Good ground manners (although he does like to creep up like a certain Morgan I'm familiar with), takes his bit well, easy to halter, doesn't run off, stands well. Picks up his qeues well. Neck reigns. Responds to shifts in your body and leg commands. An absolute dream to ride.
Remember, no horse is perfect. He's a cribber.
Anyway, the lesson went great. He's got a great trot and I was posting with no difficulty.
Instructor was nitpicking my riding today. This is good. It means she's looking for the little things to correct. And I'm doing my very best to try to correct them.
It's been a long road and it's good to feel the results.
In other news, I got information about a gym near where I work. I need to walk to them about pricing. They don't list it in their pamphlet. I consider this akin to a used car lot where they don't post the pricing. They did list the price for personal training sessions, but not membership. Apparently it depends on if the company you work for has a deal with them and what health insurance carrier you use. I'll get more info when I can.
