Quite a day!
Jun. 13th, 2007 10:12 pmI found myself unusually stressed at work today. I think the last couple of times I've taken any time off, I wound up working a bit harder to try to get a lot of stuff completed before I'm gone for a week. As usual, this is what I've been doing but it seems less likely this time around. Not to mention it seems everyone around is really dragging. Moving real slow, etc. I found myself having to dart around people just walking down the street. I swear one of 'em tried to grab me or something.
Anyway, my mom's out of town this week for a convention. She's retiring relatively soon and my folks are moving to the cape. My father, who's is a bit handicapped these days (and one of his feet got worse over the weekend) needed a bit of my help. So I went over and then we grabbed a bite to eat and went to see Oceans 13. I saw 11 but not 12. It looks like a fun movie to make. I heard bad things about 12 but this one was fantastic. And Eddie Izzard is in it.
Only thing that made the night a little off was the staff. They seemed a bit on the brainless side. "Large popcorn bottle of water, please." "Uhhhhhhhhh." Somehow, that doesn't seem the right response. Maybe it was a hint I should lose weight. But everyone there was kind of pale and skinny. Not the kind of pale and skinny I'm used to. Almost, near death kind of. Weird. Other thing was some guy moaning all throughout the movie. Either he left or someone clubbed him with a bat finally.
So outside of the entire town going a bit... whacky, was a good night and helped me to unwind from work. There was some weirdness on my very short ride home. People slowly walking across the street, seemed a couple were dragging their leg behind them. I think one guy might have been hit by a car. There was a couple who were just walking down the street but when my headlights hit 'em, they ran... sort of. More... stumbled quickly. Was all very weird. I thought about making sure they were alright but even from where I was I could tell they looked a bit lifeless.
Turned on the game in the car, Sox down to Colorodo 12-2. Ouch. Sounds like someone replaced the entire team with a bunch of zombies or something. Just weird.
I think I just heard someone screaming outside. Gonna check it out. If it's interesting, I'll let everyone know.
