KISS this!
Jul. 30th, 2007 10:34 amSo, anyone who knows me reasonably well knows that I was a pretty big fan of the band KISS growing up. Not to the levels of some people out there, but they were my favorite band for a very long time.
Friday night, Paul Stanley had a heart problem which resulted in him having to pull out of the show that night in California. Hell, I didn't even know KISS was doing shows regularly. With Tommy Thayer on guitar and Eric Singer on drums, they may as well be their own tribute band, but it still has Gene and Paul.
Anyway, Gene comes out on stage and informs the fans what's going on and asks if they want the band to continue on playing as a three piece that evening. They're ready to go on, but it's uncharted territory. Hell, they're playing without their front man. Paul does all the talking and sings about half the songs.
So they band goes on playing as a three piece. Not only that, Gene tells the fans they're going to have to help sing the songs and BRINGS SOME OF THEM UP ON STAGE!!!! Talk about a fan's ultimate dream.
