Hmmm. Well, he might just be the thrifty type (unlikely for a Hollywood star, but you never know). Or, since he made most of his pictures before he turned 18, most of his money might be in trust and currently unavailable to him. Or maybe it just wasn't his car... borrowed, stolen, who knows..?
