Okay, firstly, everyone is overreacting to this.
- The City of Boston overreacted to Lite Brites.
- Whoever found the damned thing overreacted to the Lite Brite.
- People upset the city of Boston overreacted are overreacting to the overreaction.
Let's look at the facts, what was done was, admittedly, guerrilla marketing. When you do something like this, there is often a price to be paid. Guess what, this is it. There will be a plea agreement I'm sure and nobody will ever speak of this again. I'm sure when they put these in place, they had no idea someone would think they were bombs. Fact is, I didn't hear the first thing about them until someone called them in as a bomb. I think I read one report where it was one of the people doing the marketing that called it in in which case, they made a false report. But that was early in the whole mess and I'm unsure I care enough to look any further. Okay, they had their fun, now pay the price.
38 Lite Brites: $380
152 D Cell Batteries: $190
Bail: $5,000
Better play on TV and the Internet than a $3 million, 30 second Super Bowl ad.... priceless.
Now the rest of you... calm the fuck down.
