You're kind of missing the point here. Think of the Black is Beautiful (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_is_beautiful) campaign of the 1960s. Part of the idea was to take something which was looked upon negatively and get people to think of it as a positive. You just need to change the way *YOU* think about things.

As a heterosexual, I don't think of anything about being gay as negative (outside of the whole man on man action thing which does, honestly, squick me out).

Oh, and because I check up on the people I don't know who stalk my journal, here's some information for you:

"its" is the possessive form of "it" as in "belonging to it"
"it's" is a contraction for "it is"

While the 6th(minor) is pretty common, other common chords used are the 2(minor) and the 7(minor). I imagine the 3(minor) also could be used in some music but I don't think I've run into it much. And it doesn't just apply to Rock music but the majority of American popular music, blues, country, folk, bluegrass, etc. This assumes the music is in a major key, most blues is actually in a minor key but follows the same 1-4-5 patterns.

You can learn just enough guitar from these videos:
