Did you hear that it rained at CTRF this past weekend?
I bought a new hood. It's fleece but it works great at keeping my head warm and dry. WHEEE!!! WARM AND DRY!!!
I made at least two new friends. Two little girls... maybe 14 or 15 years old walked up to me while I was hawking for one of the GBU shows and asked if I'd be their friend. So yay, two new friends whose names I don't know and I will never, in all liklihood, see again.
My former's bosses' three daughters came out again with three friends. Trying to determine is any of them were actually old enough to drive. Makes me feel old when I can't tell. Le sigh.
Sunday, I tried to keep myself out and about all day. Bought a bread bowl and shoved it into my wooden bowl. Saw the Jolly Rogers Brothers (who may need to change their name I found out). At the end of the day, my legs and feet were killing me. Enjoyed the after party despite being in pain. I'll get through. (That whine is for my special adopted sister... yup... it runs in the family... I whine too.) This all made me realize what crap condition I've been keeping myself in. Need to make a special effort to stretch more, exercise more and eat better.
Monday I helped
clodappleleft drive some poor girl crazy. In our defense, she was being obnoxious and making her friends laugh at her was exactly what she deserved. (But I really didn't mean to shoot her in the boob with the marshmallow crossbow).
I heard some great things about our new GBU show from people who's opinion I hold in VERY high regard. I'm starting to enjoy firing the pistol... maybe I'll get my own. (I'm not a big gun person.)
Made my second BK&S sword purchase over the weekend. A hand and a half sword which I've decided not to put into service yet. Especially if the rain keeps falling.
Yeah, it rained. We get by and deal. The rain did the least to drive down my spirits. I can deal with rain, mud and muck. I'm finding I have more trouble dealing with my own personal demons and lack of self motivation. If I can do more days like Sunday where I was out and about AND manage to do it without two days of pain following, I'll be much happier.
Also looking forward to doing a joust show on horseback rather than from the ground.

(But I did get proof... she does laugh and/or smile.)

Date: 2005-10-17 12:40 am (UTC)Don't suppose I gave you the idea to use the marshmallow shooter?
By the way, I don't know if you know me by name, (Holly in case you do) but you definitly should know me by face; if you didn't already guess, I'm that annoying girl who went to both of the GBU shows on Sunday (I think) and attempted to shoot you four different times with that awsome little crossbow thing. Found you journal through the ne_rennies community and felt the need to comment on this entry, due to marshmallow crossbow content. Although I was actually clicking around to try to see how people made out with the flooding at CTRF. But yeah. Rambling. Shutting up now. Have a nice day.
Oh wait, I have a legitimate thing to say too! Don't remember if I mentioned it, but I really do like GBU's new show. Yeah, the pistol is a nice effect, even if it scared the crap out of me, and I also like how you guys incorporated a lot of actual history. Plus the interactive Joan of Arc thing wwas fun.

Date: 2005-10-17 10:11 am (UTC)I've been seeing people shot with marshmallow crossbows for years. The fact the guy selling them was standing there shooting
Glad you enjoyed the show. (And I'm only a moderately better shot that you.)
