He's been appointed to several state boards, including when then-Gov. George W. Bush named him to the Texas Funeral Service Commission.

Now, if he were still on that board, that'd be irony, right? :)

"Fortunately, the vice president has got a lot of medical people around him and so they were right there and probably more cautious than we would have been," she said. "The vice president has got an ambulance on call, so the ambulance came."

Oh, but Cheney is fine. he's been okay since the last incident with his heart, right? So he has an ambulance on call and has a 'lot of medical people around him'?

If they had been planning to run Cheney in the next election, they just lost that one.

So, well, don't piss of the big Dick - else he'll shoot you.

I would not be surprised if this was SOP for the pres and vice-pres.

What amazes me is that someone took a shot at a lawyer, in Texas, and the lawyer didn't shoot back.

would be a better world if the gun was pointed the other way...

"Armstrong, owner of the Armstrong Ranch where the accident occurred, said Whittington was bleeding after he was shot and Cheney was very apologetic."

This is why I tend to despise public press releases. This comment is inane and almost downright nonsensical. No shit the guy was bleeding after he was plugged full of buckshot, and I should damn well hope that Cheney would at least make a concious effort to appear apologetic after he shot the guy. Sheesh... why can't people just speak plainly anymore?

buckshot vs birdshot

Note: it was BIRDSHOT not buckshot , if you shot a bird with buckshot you would not have anything but a pile of feathers if that!!!!! sounds like the uninformed press at work again!!!!!

Ah I see. My mistake. I wasn't aware that there was a significant difference between the two. Tis well.
