(despite being in a less than great mood, I will attempt to answer these questions)

what were you like as a kid?

Small, quiet, geeky, short fuse, introverted. I dealt better with adults than with kids. This was true probably until sometime in high school. But I've always been shy (hard to believe, eh?). I really didn't start to come out of my shell until my second year of doing Faire. And even at that, I still consider myself to be shy. I'm comfortable around some people, but not all. I'm getting better. Especially since I realized the shyness was coming off as snobby.

what's your favorite part about armored combat/gbu/faires in general?

There's something about a crowd cheering or booing you. I love the reaction. I love the attention. I love that I'm doing things other people don't do. If it was easy, everyone would do it. Same thing that made me want to learn magic. I'm jealous of guys like Zoltan and Roderick Russell because they can do things I can't. But I do things they can't. Exciting stuff.

do you ever wish you had done something completely different with your life?

Frequently. But there's a lot of story there.

what was your favorite childhood toy?

My childhood was a long time ago. I played with Star Wars action figured. I played with GI Joes. And I played with Transformers. Those be the three things I remember most.

What, in this life, is meaningful to you?

Lunch? I'm not really sure. I'm unsure of why we exist. I'm not spiritual and I don't believe there's meaning in life, I think it simply just is. What's important to me is my relationship with others, especially [livejournal.com profile] scullerywench.

What qualities in yourself do you consider your best?

Forgiveness? I didn't used to be able to do this. I held grudges, I'd hate people, etc. I forgive rather quickly now. I also tend to let things roll of my back. This is not always good as I tend to expect the same from others. I believe I have a good sense of humor. And I like to think I am, at times, generous. I have genuine concern for my friends and family.

What qualities do you admire in others(I mean in a general sense)?

Strong work ethic. Not everybody can be the best at what they do. Not everybody can be good at what they want to do. It's the ability to work hard with what you've got and never stop trying. I notice this in others. Some people are happy to coast and get to a certain point. I consider myself among those people. It's those who strive to keep getting better that I truly appreicate. No matter how good you are. No matter how much you know. There are still things to be learned. There are still improvements to be made. The ability to take criticism falls into the category. I also admire a sense of humor. This is key in life, I believe. And generosity, but not to the point of being a door mat.

What influenced your sense of humor? (Cuz you make some great wise-ass cracks at folks)

My father, mostly. I also watched a lot of stand-up comics growing up. In paricular, George Carlin. In to that, I like a dry delivery. I don't want to have to clarify something is a joke, people should just understand it. I like to joke with people, I like them to know I'm joking, I don't like to have to say, "Hey, that was a joke." It's easier for me cause I know when I'm joking. Maybe I need to adopt a silly voice. :)
