Or maybe just one big giant CUNT!

Nebraska gay marriage ban reinstated
LINCOLN, Nebraska (AP) -- Supporters of banning gay marriage won two major court rulings Friday, with a federal appeals court reinstating Nebraska's voter-approved ban on same-sex marriage and the Tennessee Supreme Court ruling that voters should have a say on the issue.

...
The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals disagreed, saying in its ruling Friday that the amendment "and other laws limiting the state-recognized institution of marriage to heterosexual couples are rationally related to legitimate state interests and therefore do not violate the Constitution of the United States."

It's nice to know that laws barring US citizens from doing something any other US Citizen can do doesn't violate the Constitution of the United States. To think, in my lifetime it's possible that we will have bigotry as part of the Constitution. What would our forefathers think? (Actually, they'd probably be on board with this but many of them were slave owners so...)

I never thought in my lifetime there would be a serious civil rights issue that needs to be championed. While it may be true that minorities and woman don't quite have all the right they're supposed to have as a result of past amendments... at least not in reality. Feh, I'm babbling.

If it comes down to a vote in this state, I know which way I will learn. If it comes down to a FEDERAL constitutional amendment, this could get scary.

I can understand why the right wing homophobes don't want to allow gay marriage. The entire "gay" thing offends the hell out of most of them. What I do not understand is the people who CLAIM they are in favor of gay rights but are opposed to gay marriage. I may never understand these people.

My 2 Cents.... uhmm can I owe you 1?

This country is killing itself from the inside out. The religious right wants to believe we're drowning in a sea of moral dilemma and has to set down more commandments to set it right. I believe we have gone so far beyond what "god" and our forefathers ever expected politically. We can no longer expect to pursue happiness when we are struggling just to survive. We need to take the separation of church and state far more seriously and start respecting others rights and opinions. Then we can get back to pursuing happiness.
