What's the difference?

Comparing this year's CNN map with last year's CNN map, the differences are that current, NM is "to close to call" but went for Gore in 2000, IA is "too close to call" and went for Gore in 2000, OH is "too close to call" and went for Bush in 2000. The only state that flipped was NH which went for Bush in 2000, but Kerry in 2004.
Another interesting note is while Gore won D.C. in 2000, he only recieved 2 of their 3 electoral votes because one of the electors left her ballot blank to protest D.C.'s lack of statehood.
EDIT:
Better page. Also explains the electoral process.
